With a 6 R-value, the LuxuryMap is well-suited for camping in any season or condition (R-value measures the material’s ability to insulate; the higher the R-value, the warmer the sleeping pad). The expandable foam core will self-inflate once the valve opens. Equipped with an easy and convenient TwinLock valve, the sleeping pad has dedicated "in" and "out" valves to make inflating and deflating the pad easier than ever. The LuxuryMap sleeping pad also includes a stuff sack to protect the pad when it's packed down. I love Therm-a-Rest quality and been using this brand for years. Whisper quiet & solid 2-valve system. Wait the entire 2 hours to let it self-inflate, don't blow into it! Very comfortable, and will last many years. After returning the large for an x-large, I recommend buying regular or skip to X-large (for the width). I wanted to upgrade from a regular 20X70 inch (2007) to a large 25X77 inch (2026). The true foam size for large is 73.5x22 inches. True foam size for x-large is 27. I returned the large for an X-large. Very glad I did. The pads are designed so that, when you lie on it, your body weight displaces air into the side skirts, allowing the pad to expand to the full width. This saves weight and space when traveling. In other words, the large pad will only reach max width if you weigh enough to displace the air. I am ~120lb at 5'4ft, for me it got to 23.5 inches.

I love this bed during company. I'm over 60 years old and it's comfortable for my sore hip. It doesn't lose air. I got it on sale so it was a great price. It is lightweight. It is self inflating and therefore so easy to use. The size is perfect for me. I'm 5'7" and weigh 160 pounds.

It's only before the pad is fully inflated that the size seems smaller than stated, it's really very close to advertised size. All self-infating pads require that you add some air at the end, and the side skirts partially inflate as well. It's also totally normal that it seems too soft before inflating it fully (to answer another negative review). I have an ultra-light inflatable thermarest pad that I'm happy to take backpacking and this one looks like it will be a great car camping pad (the large one I bought is a bit over 5lb).
