This turntable looks good and is fully automatic. You do not need to set anything up apart from putting the belt on the capstan. It's described as an entry level machine which it may well be, if you don't want to spend crazy amounts on something that isn't 'entry level '. I've been listening to it all day and it sounds great and works well. I decided on audio technica because I've been using their cartridges and stylus for years without disappointment. I think it's a great turntable for the money and frankly sounds just as good as my previous incumbent, if not even slightly better! As an addendum to my previous notes I have now had this turntable for roughly 6 months and it has been in fairly continuous use and I am absolutely knocked out by the sound it produces. I have an average set up with a nice Rotel amp going through some grand old mission speakers. I have listened to far more expensive set ups than mine and frankly I haven't heard anything that beats the audio fidelity that this so called entry level turntable produces.
