I have had a problem with other pans that were cleaned in my dishwasher than faded over time. I have decided to wash this item by hand. I have seen no appreciable difference in the exterior color from new to now. The only downside is having to handwash the pair after each use and leaving them out to dry. I avoid using paper towels and other rags to avoid leaving any cloth residue inside the pot after they are washed. I would recommend these to anyone that cooks a lot on the stove and needs a quality product that will stand up over time.
