I was not too hopeful that any paint-lifting product would be effective on metal paint or, if it were, that the removal of the resulting softened paint would be arduous. I followed the instructions for a small test area but didn't really leave enough time for the second coat to work. I was impressed - but still had to work a bit in scraping off the residue - although it got easier towards the end of the task as time had passed. For the remainder of the door, I left the first coat to work for a full 90 minutes before adding the second coat and leaving it for a similar time. I was frankly amazed at how completely the paint was lifted! In many cases I was peeling off a full square foot with ease. I didn't even need to follow up with sandpaper - it all came off like the skin off a rice pudding. First application I followed the instructions and it did little in an hour. For the next one I left it 4 hours or until the surface showed the bubbles of the paint coming off and that did the trick for me. The scrapping was easy after that.
