Instructions would have been helpful Review: Don’t expect the capacity stated in steel. Struggled with 0.8mm - The first thing I realised is there is no way to clamp the metal for bending, I had to buy 2 G clamps. Next I found that g clamps alone weren’t enough to stop the work piece sliding so I added some dowel pins. It worked ok on 1mm aluminium at 100mm wide but when I tried 0.8mm steel at 300mm wide the unit flexed and I didn’t get an even bend. The outer edges have a defined bend but it’s lost towards the middle. See photo. The bar is used to hold the unbent part of the sheet metal horizontally in place - it’s position relative to the hinge-line determining the final bend radius. Accurate setup is a bit fiddly as you kind of need three hands to hold and manipulate the material, clamp bar and g-clamps. I found 1mm thick mild steel sheet is relatively easy to bend, although I think it would struggle with any thicker steel, especially if it’s a wide bend. I haven’t tried it with 2mm thick Aluminium but I reckon it would cope provided you set the clamp plate back from the hinge line to allow a decent bend radius - too tight a radius will likely crack the aluminium. It’s a sturdy well made tool, worth having in the workshop, but you need a good bench and some decent clamps, a scriber, a steel rule and some basic sheet metalworking knowledge (YouTube..?) and do your own experiments… I’m afraid that’s the best answer I can give you. Good luck! **Q: Can this bend 2mm mild steel?** A: It can't bend anything over 1mm in my experience / I tried bending 1.2 mm sheet not good it will break **Q: Will it make perfect circles** A: I wasn't overly impressed with it. The instructions were very poor and I ended up having to adapt it myself to get it to work. It might do circles, and cylinders if you make each bend very tiny and precise (but they may not end up "perfect circles") If I were you I would buy a similar version of the same thing as the instructions might be clearer and it might not need the adaptation that I had to do on it! Good luck! **Q: Could it handle 3mm aluminium?** A: In my experience not really, it will probably bend it but it might be the last thing it bends. I guess short pieces could be done ok if you do it at one end near the hinge. It is after all only intended for 1.5 mm stuff. So, have a go (using very strong G cramps to hold your 3mm stuff down) and then be disappointed by the shape of the bend. Good luck though.
