Have used other makes in the past that worked well, just place them on the jar, press the button and they would auto adjust to fit the two set of 'grippers' to both the body and the lid and then automatically twist until opened. This isn't of the same quality or of the same type of operation of those others. For this involves multiple manual attempts at trying to get the two 'gripper' sections to line up with the body and lid of the jar and hoping it wouldn't slip off once you pressed and held the button to start it turning. It took me over ten minutes and multiple attempts to open one jar. I then tried it with a slightly larger jar which more closely matched the 'original' start position of the two 'grippers' and it still didn't want to work, slipping off the lid and/or the body of the jar much of the time.If it wasn't such a big physical effort for me to take this to the nearest Amazon return pickup point I would return this as not fit for purpose as the amount of fiddling and effort it takes to get it to fit to a jar and lid it would be a lot quicker and easier for me to go ask one of my neighbours to. Avoid and if like me you have bad hands, get friendly with your neighbours instead. Ah well, more junk for the bin :(P.S. No information or manual or anything like a guarantee slip included with the item, in fact the box was otherwise empty so I am perhaps wondering whether this was a return. For ironically, on the body of the unit it states to be sure to read the invisible manual. Also, just now looking more closely at it as I went to bin it, it is not that clean. In fact it is quite dusty for something new that has supposedly sat in the box since leaving the manufacturer.
