So I took the same 24 VAC power transformer from the original drip control and ran it to the "C" on the relay, so that when the device responded to an on command in the app the voltage would pass through to the "NO" on the device relay and activate the water valve wired to it for the zone. The other side of the 24 VAC transformer went to the white common wire from the water valves. All worked perfectly the first time.
