Install the batteries and don’t touch any buttons after. It sets the date and time from the atomic clock signal for you out the box. The only manual change you have to make is for the time zone you live in. It will pair the outdoor sensor for temperature during the setup. Can’t say anything bad about any Marathon brand clock I have purchased. Very happy with it. It looks attractive, has great information, and is accurate for both time and temperature. I also really appreciate that it is battery operated, and thus I can mount it in my kitchen without an unsightly cable or cable cover. If I have one criticism, it is that I have trouble getting the automatic daylight savings time feature to work. I don't believe the unit is faulty, but I find it easier to just manually change the hour.
