It is completely silent and very easy to clean. I like the guard option which is useful when young children visit. The only bugbear is it does not collect much house dust, but does a very good job of collecting micro-particles that damage lungs, like in Diesel engine smoke. With a ten year guarantee it comes with, and well packaged on delivery, I am seriously thinking of buying another for my bedroom, as I suffer from Athsma, and I definately need a bedroom one. I would recommend buying one to see if you like the performance and saving costs.
