I contacted KLIM about the issue, and got a response within 24h, helping me confirm that the problem was intractable. Marj advised me to try one of two other KLIM models that can connect through FM (they emit on one of 5 FM frequencies, and the car radio just needs to be tuned to it) : KLIM Discover and KLIM Journey, with very similar specs (and no speakers). I returned the KLIM Speaker to desertcart, got a refund, and ordered a KLIM Journey. Connection is not as simple as it would be with Bluetooth, but works perfectly well and the sound is very good (through my car audio system). I was very impressed by the speed, honesty and accuracy of the response I received from the KLIM customer service. Hence the five stars.
