## Description

The epic Predator legacy continues with this action-thriller set in the Comanche Nation. When Naru, a fierce and highly skilled young warrior, sets out to protect her people, the prey she stalks turns out to be a highly evolved alien predator — leading to a vicious and terrifying showdown.

Review: Probably The Best Predator Movie - It's been said that Predators have been on Earth longer than most people think, and Prey takes full advantage of this angle. Set in the 1700s, in the wilds of North America where the colonialists haven't yet overrun the indigenous population, its main character--aside from the Predator of course--is a Commanche girl named Naru (Amber Midthunder). Naru yearns for a more active life, away from the tribal village where women do the women's work, and out among the men where the hunts take place. Unfortunately, she's about to get her wish, just not in the way she imagined. Every bit as good a warrior as any of the males, she's going to need every last ounce of that skill, because her homeland is where one of the first Predators to visit the Earth (unless you count the under-appreciated Alien Vs. Predator movies, which don't seem to be considered canon to the main franchise) touches down on the planet. Immediate concern: after the heavy punishment they've faced in previous movies, how are they going to have a Predator NOT go through enemies with just muskets and tomahawks like a chainsaw through butter? The answer is, the filmmakers don't try to avoid it. Most of the time, the Predator just slaughters his way through his foes like a hurricane. And yet, somehow, when the other characters manage to gain an advantage on the hunter, it doesn't come off as contrived. It takes the best the natives have got, but they do manage to get some good hits in there from time to time. And while fast and tough, the previous movies have shown that Predators aren't unkillable. Or will this be the time one of the Predators actually manages to completely annihilate his enemies on all fronts? Great action sequences, great acting, well shot, and boasting a cool new, more primitive look for the Predator, this movie just might be the best in its franchise. Extremely recommended.
Review: Best #1 Predator movie so far - I am so impressed and obsessed with this movie I needed to own a DVD so I could watch it on my portable player. This movie was so captivating fusing true histotically correct times with futuristic themes of alien incursion. The cinamatography is beautiful and breathtaking, I have raved about this version to all and now I physically own my copy to add to my collection!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Predator from the Past that Honors the First Predator
*by B***Y on July 14, 2025*

I am old enough to remember seeing the very first "Predator' movie with Arnold Schwarzenegger. and how brilliant it was as a SciFi movie, which sparked a series of lesser movies. When I saw 'Prey' ads and realized I was unable to view it on Amazon Prime, and that I believe it was made for video (not a theater release), I was so happy to be able to purchase it. It is BRILLIANT and, I would say, equally as good, if not even better, than the original. I love how it is based in the 1719 when Native peoples reigned over the land while white explorers and fur traders began moving in. The Native cast were/are actual Native American actors, which so added to the authenticity of the time period. The introduction of French fur traders was perfect, and I loved how there is no subtitles, as their acting and emoting clearly shows what they are saying and what their intentions are. The 'Comanche' characters (again, this was a mix of Native actors who played these roles and weren't necessarily Comanche Nation people, begin the movie speaking in their tongue, yet it becomes English, as if we are now Comanche, thus able to understand them. It worked for me. I did feel it was very much a 'kill or be killed' plot where any predator or prey is preyed upon, yet it was okay as this played into the whole 'predator and prey' theme. It is a VERY well acted movie and the plot is fantastic. The Predator character is fantastic as it is different than the original, yet still honors the original. It seemed almost more primitive in its technology than the original Predator, which is brilliant as it implies that their technology would also improve over 300 plus years. I have since read that there are plans to to a sequel, and even the credit animation implies this if you pay attention, which is pretty cool, to me. If you like he first movie, I think you will love this one!
