There is a wide variety of chores (and some fun surprises) and we have been able to do all of them or adapt them to our house. There are blanks sticks for your own custom chores too. Sure you could make something like this, but the price, quality and creativity was spot on for us. I have two boys between 8 and 5 years old, of course it has always been a struggle to get them to pick up messes! We haven't actually had the chance to really use the chore sticks but the boys seemed excited when I explained what it was. I have read through each chore and my only issue is that a lot of them aren't age appropriate for my kids. Having the chores pre-listed makes it easy to identify what work needs to be completed. We distribute the sticks to each person, and the stick is returned once the chore is completed. Then, we total the sticks each person hands back in and provide allowance for the chores once we have inspected the job. This is a fun and easy way to organize chores. However, these could be easily made at home for less money. We opted to add sticks to the pack based on specialized chores we do in our home.
