The shelf life on these is ten years, and more importantly, I have never seen one of these leak. The standard alkaline batteries seem to leak all the time nowadays. It didn't used to be that way. These batteries are high quality. They fit and function just like the brand name versions. Quality and capacity are good. As we just installed them we have no way of knowing how long they will last vs. the originals that came with the detectors.
