I'll speak to what I experienced thus far: I am in my 50's and have been through quite a few beard trimmers in my time. I typically like to be clean-shaven but in my line of work, that isn't always convenient. Therefore, my common facial hair practices are best served as quick and as short as possible -- which is why a beard trimmer is a necessity. One of things I have always disliked about the beard trimming process is the mess and the cleanup, and in the past I've purchased trimmers that catch the hair as it cuts. The downside to those products was how short they would trim, which wasn't very short unless you took off the attachment. But when the guard was taken off, the trimmer would sometimes pull hair or cause skin irritation. The Beard Hedger has none of those problems. Want no mess? Use it in the shower. Want a very short trim? Take off the guard and use it -- no pain, no skin irritation. Holding this trimmer right out of the box gave me an immediate feeling that the quality of this trimmer was top of the line. Not sure if I can put that into understandable words, but once you hold it, you'll understand what I mean. As I said, I've been using this trimmer for about a week.
