Really don’t think she will be riding at night, but it there just in case. The brakes are easy to use with tiny hands. She could also brake using the pedals. The basket and doll seat are a nice touch. The color is pretty and it is a good quality bike. I think it will last her for a while. I have the seat at the lowest setting right now, and her feet touch the ground just fine. She’s of average height for her age of 5. She loves it and doesn’t feel unsteady while riding it. The training wheels have to be at the right height. Easy to do. The bell isn’t great, but that’s an easy fix, by just purchasing a different one.
