Review: The best caliper paint. - Have been using Foliatec's 2 part caliper paint since the 1990s and is by far the best such paint. When cured it is unaffected by cleaning solvents, and easilly lasts 7+ years, and keeps calipers from looking like neglected things of rust. I remove the calipers and mounting brackets and paint both, 2 coats, and the job is a good one. When I have left over paint i use it the reverse of wheel hubs and the bearing calipers as ther areas manufactureres hardly ever paint these areas, obviously manufacturers think that because these areas are not readilly visible they can be left to rust, sad.

**Q: Will one kit be enough to cover all 4 large AMG Brembo brake callipers, they look similar to the first image - yellow calliper**
A: No I would have 2. I done BMW Z4 and there was only a bit left . Painting brembos are you mad !!!

A: I used half the paint after 2 coats on the 4 calipers (front larger than rear on my standard model) of my my BMW435d gran coupe. Good product but found you have to be careful fitting big wheels soon after to avoid scuffing the paint which doesnt fully harden for a while.

**Q: How long should it take to dry? Done 3 coats but it's quite tacky**
A: If this is the 2 component system then the paint will crosslink and harden quite quickly at normal temperatures. I waited 24 hours for second coat, it dried to a really good gloss. Only thing to watch out for is to use wheel hangers when replacing the wheel to avoid knocking the new caliper paint as it will take some time for the paint to fully harden.

Have been using Foliatec's 2 part caliper paint since the 1990s and is by far the best such paint. When cured it is unaffected by cleaning solvents, and easilly lasts 7+ years, and keeps calipers from looking like neglected things of rust. I remove the calipers and mounting brackets and paint both, 2 coats, and the job is a good one. My brake calipers were in need of some TLC as they were really letting the look of the car down, and this kit made a big difference to the overall finish. The Foliatec Brake Calliper Paint Set is a complete DIY kit designed for painting brake calipers without needing to remove them (although for a perfect finish I would recommend that they are removed). The instructions were clear and easy to follow, especially regarding how to mix the paint with the hardener in the correct ratio. Once mixed, the paint was easy to work with and applied smoothly with the brush provided. In terms of working time, there is a reasonable window before the paint starts to harden. I found there was plenty of time to apply it comfortably without feeling rushed, and I had no issue finishing each caliper before it began to set. Drying time after application was also reasonable, allowing the calipers to cure properly and build up a solid finish. Preparation is key, but once the calipers were cleaned and ready, the application process itself was straightforward and not too time-consuming. The finish looked very good once dry, giving the calipers a much fresher and more premium appearance. One set was enough to paint all four calipers, and I still had some product left over, although it’s hard to say if there would be enough for another full set. Overall, I’m very happy with the result. It’s a relatively simple job that makes a noticeable visual improvement to the car.
