They’ve been varnished a couple of times over the years, but the main walkway areas had become quite worn and pale. I bought the dark shade even though my floors are more of a medium oak colour with a slight reddish tone. I didn’t want the hassle of completely re-varnishing the whole floor, so I thought I’d give this a try on the off chance — and honestly, it’s worked a treat. I wish I’d taken before and after photos. It’s not perfect, but after two coats it’s blended the worn areas in really well and made the walkway far less noticeable.
