## Questions & Answers

**Q: When the fridge is in gas mode does it generate warm air to heat up the camper van? Like old 2 way fridges do.**
A: This product is not recommended for permanent installation in a vehicle; the suggested use is in an awning outside the vehicle. Dometic recommend their RM range for installation in vehicles and boats.

**Q: Can I buy just the fridge door as I have cracked mine**
A: I don't know if you buy a door I would email waeco and find out I mite be selling my fridge I want one I can fit in to my van

**Q: Hi folks. Has anyone used this fridge with a flue kit? {I realise it's not recommended for installation]**
A: Both myself and my son have one of these fitted in our campervans ,with a flue. They are fine, the only reason they say the fridge should not be installed is because it does not have a relevant gas council number,GC number. When dometic bought out waeco the rf60 had no GC number and it would be far too expensive to obtain one,so not worth their while.

**Q: Can this be transformed into 24v**
A: I'm not sure that it can be used with 24V. Although it does run on 230/240 Mains Ok and can be used with. I use this fridge on a motor cruiser and have not bothered with connecting the gas option as it runs fine on 12V and on mains. The fridge works very well and even though it does not have a freezer compartment it does not really need it. Only fault I have with it is that it was delivered with the top cover damaged but was easy to fix.

## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Silent running
*by C***S on 15 October 2014*

Great fridge for camping, we used it this summer for three weeks of camping in glorious hot weather. We loved the ease of access ie; the door for front loading unloading rather than the top loader were you have to lift everything out to reach stuff in the bottom of the fridge. We used it on 12volt and on mains 240volt, on mains if you turn the thermostat to full you can freeze items which is good for quick initial cool down and then just turn the thermostat down. The best bit for camping it is silent you can not hear it running like others on the market the only thing that gives it away that it's running is the cooling stack at the back of the fridge gets hot, so keep away from the side of the tent. It also runs on gas but we have not got around to using it on gas yet. My wife loves it over our old noisy top loader fridge / cool box.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Four Stars
*by M***. on 1 December 2016*

very good in this country, it struggled in high external temperatures

### ⭐⭐⭐ Excellent, works a treat and recommended
*by K***N on 25 July 2017*

Be careful the gas inlet pipe does not come into contact with the black rightmost, furthest back vertical tube - this being the component inside a stainless steel housing with end exposed. The end gets extremely hot and melted a hole in the gas tubing from the bottle thus filling the vehicle with gas. The manufacturer should fit a cage over this exposed component but as it stands there is a viable risk of fire or gas explosion.Fitted inside converted Sprinter van. Added a 15KG butane gas bottle, doesn't come with gas hose or regulator. Estimate 15Kg bottle will last 40 days on full power (I believe 380grams/24hours) which is 88p/day currently. Initially gives off an odd burning/chemical smell due to being new and having a flame. Instruction manual is adequate, the flame is easy to ignite and has a small AAA battery in the ignition button. On first power-up it takes a while to show signs of working but it works a treat. The lock on the top of the door is a must as everything will fall out when in motion.Needless to say it gives off a small amount of heat as a consequence of having a small flame to cause the evaporation. This is not unwelcome most of the time as the van gets cold frequently.Thr fridge may also stop working after a period of months and requires disconnecting from the gas and inverting. This will not work indefinitely. I've downgraded it from 5 stars because it completely failed after about a year.
