Is the seal just excess material and gravity?** A: There isn't a "seal". The netting stays down and does its job perfectly! It should cover an exposed neck area just fine. I also sprayed the hat and net with Premetherin just as I spray my pants, sunscreen shirts, socks, sun hat and I never get bitten. (W/o Premetherin any biting thing within 100 miles will find me!) For me this hat just adds another layer of confidence. I was surprised how I didn't notice I was wearing it.
