They are an essential emergency tool for when you wake up in the middle of the night and don't fancy the trudge to the disgusting festival toilets, or for any other time. Any liquids going in turn to gel within a minute and will then not spill. The unused packs themselves are really small and doesn't take up much room in your luggage. I would recommend having a practice go before trying it out in a tent, and always ensure that there's enough space under you for the bag to be completely unfolded, otherwise it can spill. As a woman, I found the best position was kneeling over the bag.
