No issues with the blade release. Came with only one blade, which was a surprise. Easy and simple to use, if quite weighty but that's all to the good as you tend to adopt a good stance to hold it. Used for sawing up Victorian floor boards after they were lifted by a carpenter and has made dealing with them much easier. Takes a little getting used to in use and can kick back a bit but once you've got used to that it is a great tool.
