You would need to ensure that the hole in the tube is sealed too. **Q: Could I use this to seal on outside (protected area) old cast iron pipe?** A: Yes, but: - it cannot be overpainted, so pick the right colour - make sure the metal is clean and flake free, otherwise water will get under the flake, and loosen the seal. It is appropriate for "general,weatherproofing" and areas of high humidity, so no reason it wont work. Do not ise on upvc or lead/brass thouh.
