When the magnet is used (like on a frig) the hole is covered, which muffles the sound. If you use the built-in prop and sit it on the counter it is about twice as loud. You could perhaps stick it to a flat frig magnet (without covering the hole) you get more sound. **Q: how long does the timer sound after counting down to zero?** A: The sound from the timer is almost nonexistent it is so faint.
