As far as using it as a cutting board, I can compare it to an even larger cutting board that I have that is made of the same material and gets used as a cutting board. I give this board 5 stars for both uses. The material is easy on my knives and is easy to clean. I wash it by hand. It is also very durable. Nice for working on cutting things up, you have room to work with. My knife did leave scratches on the board, as expected. It didn't dull my knife. The only thing that could be a negative is it's bulky when cleaning, not the fault of the board. I really like it when cutting large pieces of meat. One side has lettering by the handle while the other side doesn't. If you wanted to use one side for meat, and the other for veggies, it's easy to do.
