All you have to do is have the light on and open the app. Done. The brightness and overall quality of the light is fantastic. I am using it as a key light with a soft box (close up) at about 40% power. Dialing in color temperature, or any color you want is dead easy with either the app or the controls on the back of the unit. It has been flawlessly reliable and I can't recommend it enough.
