Kingavon SAFE28 Large Electronic Safe

Just brought this safe for my daughter who is off to University and is house sharing with friends. This is a large, strong, steel safe and we have brought it to secure her laptop, i Pad, camera, phone, cash and cards. The safe has easily swallowed all the above and the laptop is 17 inches and there is still plenty of room. It has a secure 8 digit access code and override keys for emergency's. We have threaded a steel security cable, also from Amazon, through the fixing holes and looped it through the radiator bracket and pipework so it is secure but no damage has been caused to the walls by drilling, which the landlord does not like. If they remember to use it it with provide a reasonable deterrent to foil the opportunist burglar. For the money I think it is great value. Highly recommend.

Overall a nice safe for me, I can put it my A4 documents and smaller valuables. The top shelf wasn't secured so rattled in the box. 1 annoying thing was the loose door, this has 2 bolts that lie against a small strip of steel inside the safe. There was a gap so each time I used the keypad the door would bounce around and make a racket. I solved it by adhesiving 2 strips of magnetic tape on the strip.Powder coating is generally well done bar some misses on the top. The centre strip is plastic and can be pulled out to reveal the key hole. The supplied anchor bolts are nuts, will use better hex head anchors, either 80mm or 100mm. I used some eletrical insulating tape, wrapped round the expansion nut so it wouldn't work loose once in the hole. Will complement this safe with the Futura 48 Key Cabinet Safe, as they will achieve an aesthetic balance.

This safe whilst not being Fort Knox is certainly good enough to hold valuables, I am very pleased with it, just bolt it to the wall and away you go, there is a little bit of movement in the door, but, believe me when I say "when it's locked it is locked". If anyone was to try to force their way into it, they would have to make a lot of noise,it is very very solid, and sure, you could spend several hundreds of pounds on a safe, but why ?, when this one serves it's purpose for £70 it safeguards your valuables and cash. The safe is quiet large as well, you will find that you can fit a lot in to it, so if you're looking for a safe then treat yourself to this one, it really is good.

The safe had clearly been damaged previously and re-packed. There was a crack in the paintwork and the paint finish differed in the area damaged from the rest of the safe. It appeared to have been a botched repair, possibly after being dropped. There is a bit of a bend in the metal lip where the door closes against and this also has cracked paint as if it has been stressed. After looking into the complicated and pricey process of shipping an 18.5 kg safe back to Amazon, we decided we gave no choice but to keep it. The safe is reasonably priced and fit for purpose but just disappointed that it arrived damaged and it was quite clear that the damage didn't happen during this transit. There was no telephone number or email we could use to contact Amazon about the issue.

Excellent safe sturdy enough for the price & size is extremely adequate for the home or small office comes with two shelves I took one out to accommodate my files on the bottom & valuables on the top plenty of room, this is not fire proof but again great value for the money spent
