Would it still be white ?** A: When the alginate is fully set it will turn white and stay white. It will progress from a violet color when first mixed to a pink color as it begins to set and then to white upon final setting. **Q: does this product come with the measuring scoop and water vial displayed on the packaging?** A: Only the measuring scoop. **Q: Hi, when the product expires?** A: My bag was purchased in mid-late 2017. On the upper left quadrant of the front of my bag, it is stamped with an expiration date of "2021-06" (June of 2021). **Q: Am i able to cover this bottom impression with the stone mix the denturist sent me** A: You should be able to, this specific alginate is designed for dental use, but I have used all sorts of different materials in it, from gypsum and plaster to plastic casting resins and epoxies ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works great *by R***S on 1 May 2026* Very quick and detailed. Worked great to make plaster molds when used with the mouth trays. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ As described *by S***H on 14 May 2023* As described. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent for casts *by T***E on 14 January 2022* Bought this to make a cast of my upper teeth after I noticed a chip out of one of my molars. Works excellent! If you are new to using alginate for casting, there’s plenty of excellent information on YouTube for getting the alginate:water ratio right. This sets fast, maybe just over two minutes using ice cold water (sets faster with heat) but it sets strong, so small details don’t seem to get lost from it ripping apart. The color change upon setting is nice too, but ultimately was not essential for my use - this is probably of more value to busy dental techs. The hardest part for me was making plaster casts (retroactive pun?) from the mold without leaving bubbles in the plaster, even using thin plaster and mushing it around in the low spots. This is overall good stuff and I’m sure many other uses for it can be found in molding/crafting so long as one is aware that it will eventually dry out and lose shape. I give it two snaps up ## Frequently Bought Together - Practicon 7085610 Cavex ColorChange Alginate, 500 Gram - GXXMEI 12PCS 6 Sizes Dental Impression Tray for Adult/Children, Plastic Materials Teeth Holder Dental Central Supply for Oral Tools - 5 lb - Dental Yellow Buff Stone - Gypsum Type III - All Purpose Compound - Model Stones - Used in Dental Lab & Offices ** Includes Scoop ** --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.com.br/products/470480601-practicon-7085610-cavex-colorchange-alginate-500-grams](https://www.desertcart.com.br/products/470480601-practicon-7085610-cavex-colorchange-alginate-500-grams) --- *Product available on Desertcart Brazil* *Store origin: BR* *Last updated: 2026-10-28*
