## Description

Why would you trust a 50-cent strap on your high-end backpack? Most backpacks come with a sternum strap, but few match the quality of the 8TIMBER Stern Link. Our premier sternum strap allows for instantaneous one-hand closure and release. The FIDLOCK V-Buckle is made of high-grade metal and features magnetic attachment to eliminate any fumbling with your strap.

Review: Good quality strap - So far, so good. Been using this strap on my Tomtoc backpack for a little over a week now. The magnetic buckle is really nice. Super secure. Fastens securely into the ring loops on shoulder straps. Fits nicely too. I’m able to expand it to accommodate my wider frame too. I haven’t used it on a long trip or a flight yet (just a short weekend trip and day to day use) so I’m not sure how everything will hold up in that scenario. But, I imagine it will be fine given the durability of the parts and overall construction. Definitely worth shelling out a little more money (though, I think the price should be a little lower) instead of risking going with something less expensive and flimsier.
Review: Does what I want - The strap is nice and the quick release function is handy. I have it on my travel backpack to ease the load and I need to be able to take on and off quickly. Downside is it’s a bit on the pricey side.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How to attach to backpack?**
A: The 8TIMBER Stern Link attaches to backpacks with webbing on the shoulder straps via it's plastic tri glide adjusters. We'll do our best to post a video showing this shortly!

**Q: where is this made?**
A: The Stern Link is made in China

**Q: What is the maximum width a strap can be for the tri glide inserts?**
A: 1 inch webbing! Which we found was pretty standard for most backpack straps

**Q: Do you make a clip with a bigger webbing? This would be perfect for my son's backpack but his straps are 3 inches😔**
A: Thanks for reaching out! We currently only offer the stern link with a 1" triglide plastic piece on either end. We intend for users to fasten this plastic triglide onto 1" webbing directly [a feature commonly seen added onto adult backpack straps]

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Does what I want
*by C***C on September 10, 2025*

The strap is nice and the quick release function is handy. I have it on my travel backpack to ease the load and I need to be able to take on and off quickly. Downside is it’s a bit on the pricey side.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great addition to my backpack
*by T***. on October 10, 2024*

When Amazon asked me to review this item I had completely forgotten that this was a third party addon to my backpack - it feels like it was part of my pack all along. It's comfortable, feels very durable, and the magnetic latch is both easy to secure and easy to undo. It holds strong the moment it clamps together, and I've never encountered a situation so far where the latch came undone on its own under stress. I'm bookmarking this purchase for the future, as I can see this being useful in other situations.
