They can be used in various configurations, with one light on or two and can stand up via the "legs/handles". They also have a magnet in the handles if you have something metal nearby to "stick" them to which has proven very useful. They lights last a long time on a single charge even when using both lights. Very pleased with them and would highly recommend.
