I'm using 23AWG cable (measured to confirm it's correct), and there's far too much room for the wires to move around inside the connector — they simply don't crimp properly. I also had two where the electrical connection between the pins and the wire was fine (confirmed with a multimeter), but the contact channel was malformed, so the connection was never actually made when plugged in. It took me ages to work out what was going on. In the end I had to use a Stanley knife to thin down the malformed channels just to get them working.
