Good - I bought this for my recently M6 for my amateur photography, a chame view finder was not part of the camera but after a few days of use the camera, LCD screen was ok, but when mount the View finder, honestly it is great. Good. 1.- Resolution and size is great. 2.- Great contrast. 3.- Great brightness and adjustable from the main menu. 4.- Color look natural, not oversatured, or washed out. 5.- Easy to slide in/out, 6.- Push buttom on the left securely slide out, no push of the buttom, no slide out, great. 7.- Easy to adjust to your eye, by focusing with an external ring. 8.- Proximity sensor to detect when Your eye gets closer to the view finder, de activate the LCD and activate the View finder. 9.- View finder has anti-reflective coatig for better light transmision and less reflections that could leake from an improper eye alighment to the view finder. Few vendors offer this option. 10.- Included an small bag for storage when no needed. 11.- Massive improvement from my old 6MP Canon power shot S3 IS. 12.- All the information available in the LCD, is also available in the VF. 13.- Nice black color, match that of the M6 black. 14.- included a a piece of platic that slide in the VF to protect some of the pins that maek contact with the camera. 15.- Also have a Sony RX100 IV, mainly for video, but think this canon VF is just a little bit better. It functions as advertised displaying the screen information and once switched ON remains on to allow either the use of the EVF or the LCD to compose the shot. It did require a firmware update. Is the M6 mk2 better?** A: I don't have the M5, but my M6 is not bad at all. I assume you are talking about shutter lag and not focus time. Shutter lag isn't bad at all. Not as fast as my 5D MkIII, but decent enough that I don't feel like I missed any shots because of it. If the question is on focus speed, that depends significantly on the lens. F2.8 lens, in general, will focus much faster than a F5.6 lens. My Canon 70 - 200 F2.8 IS L will clearly focus faster than my Sigma 17- 70 F2.8-4 DC lens that is my primary on the M6, but even with that it is not slow. **Q: will the evf-dc2 work at the same time while live brodcasting with an hdmi cable?** A: No it does not. Just checked it! **Q: can this be used for SLRs?** A: this can be used in a EOS 6D Mark II **Q: If focusing manually, do you see peaking and is there a magnification with this evf ? thank you.** A: Yes one does see peaking. At least with the 3 lenses I tried on manual settings with my Canon M6. Yes magnification also works.
