Review: Its not working i need refund or exhancge
Review: Does not work! Image shows power connections as soldered, but it does not come this way. You will have to solder the connections yourself and then you won't be able to return the item when it doesn't work. I had no luck getting this to work. Do yourself a favor and just buy the Arduino Due board with the USB input port (micro USB) built in.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Will this work with a Leonardo?**
A: Since the pin-headers are identical to those for the Uno, and the Board Config pairs the Uno/Leonardo as the SAME config, I would think so.
I personally haven't coded with the USB Shield yet, but the electrical configurations seem identical.

**Q: Is there a library file that one uses to access the usb data? if so, is there a link provided, or can you direct me in the right direction? thanks.**
A: Not that I know of, the USB data that is received is based on the USB device connected. You'll have to look up the specific device you're using and find out the format of its data packets.

**Q: do you have to solder the 3.3 and 5v pads on this one like so many of the others? I've ordered 3 different shields and none of them work w/out mods.**
A: No you do not have to. I am a blind Arduino nut and look for things I don't have to solder. Not that blind folks can not solder but when I don't have to I don't. this unit is pretty nice. I will warn you though. It has female and male headers so you can stack it. The mail pins are really low quality. I have to be really careful because they bend easy. The male headers on some of my other devices have lower gage pins and do not bend as easy. I am not saying this to knock it I mean I paid $11 for it so how can I complain. I just am careful with it.

**Q: Is this compatible with the atmega328p? i.e arduino uno r3?**
A: It was compatible when we tested.
You can try it out. If it is not compatible with yours, you can apply for after-sales service. Our products have a two-year warranty.
Need to pay attention to the interface of the product.

I have a working keyboard project using the official Arduino USB host shield. That shield has been discontinued, I have to look into clones for another project. Apparently, not all clones work, based on user reviews on the internet. I can now confirm this shield works as a drop-in placement for the discontinued official one, at least in my keyboard project. The board is shorter and has less feature but it does use the same MAX3421E chip. The solder work is not as polished as the original and the pins are a bit bent. There is no marking on the pins, unlike the original. However it's also cheaper than the original. Overall I'm happy to finally find a clone that works.
