I've only blanched them and pulled the skin off, which I would likely still do with a lot of tomatoes but, if I just need one or two, I will peel them with the peeler to save time. The knife is really cute with the tomatoes all over it. The knife is sharp and cuts well. The only con to this Tomato Knife is that it's not as wonderfully thin as my previous one, which made it a lovely cheese knife as well.
