The sound will not be degraded or somehow changed other than the USB jitter noise will either be there or won't be there but it will have zero effect on the actual sound itself because that's not how digital sound works (it's not like analog where something like cable distance and devices along the signal path can color a signal). That said, this thing works! I am so happy and it's so simple: just plug in to your computer and then plug your USB audio interface into it. I have a Volt 2 USB audio interface that I use with Ableton and for some dumb reason that thing developed noise when connected to USB. Kind of dumb that a USB audio interface whose sole job is to provide clean audio over USB would have a noise problem when connected to USB but it does!
