## Description

If your toothbrush loses power quickly or doesn't hold charge, most likely the rechargeable battery is dead. Don't waste money on a new toothbrush system, including handle, brush head, and charger! Bring your old toothbrush to life again by replacing the dead battery. The item is a set of 2 brand new rechargeable NiMH batteries. NiMH, compatible with the original NiCd batteries in charging and discharging, doesn't have NiCd memory problem. 1600 mAh is more than twice capacity of the original NiCd battery. You will be able to do more brushing per charge and your handle will last longer because of that. Battery is fully tested before shipping. Due to the nature of battery product, NO return is accepted after it has been installed.

Review: Cheaper than buying a new toothbrush. - When the batteries in my Sonic Complete died, I didn't feel like buying a new toothbrush. I still had a bunch of replacement brush heads, and I didn't want to let those go to waste. I found replacing the batteries to be pretty straightforward, but I can imagine it might be a bit intimidating for some people. When you remove the bottom of the toothbrush, there is a coil of thin wire attached to the bottom cap. Be careful not to break the thin wires that attach the coil to the circuit board. I didn't even bother desoldering the old batteries. I used a pair of pliers and peeled the tabs off of the old batteries. I folded the tabs on the new batteries backward and just placed them into the battery holder without soldering. I used a piece of cardboard at the top of the battery holder to ensure the tab that is connected to the circuit board presses against the tab that is connected to the battery. Then I put the bottom back on. No soldering necessary. Took me less than 5 minutes, and I haven't had any problems since. One thing to note is that the original batteries are NiCd, and these batteries are NiMH. These have a much higher mAh rating, so you don't have to charge it as often. NiCd batteries generally have lower mAh ratings, but can be recharged more times. These batteries might last longer if you don't charge them too often.
Review: Onus is on the buyer - The batteries last about twice as long as the original batteries. I subtracted one star because there are zero instructions on how to replace the batteries. I subtracted a second star because they show a picture that suggests that the two batteries are joined. The batteries are loose. Overall the onus is on the buyer to figure out how to 1) solder the batteries together 2) solder the fragile assembly into the electric toothbrush.

I am fairly experienced at soldering. The soldering needed here really taxed my skills to the limit. I would not recommend trying to replace these batteries yourself if you are not a reasonably skilled solderer, or do not have access to a friend who is and can help you. Once I got the soldering done, got the toothbrush put back together, and charged the batteries, everything has worked fine.
