I would prefer a unitool or metal knife that can be used for prying if I had only one knife. is it good for self defense? it is kind of small so i don't know never had to and hope I would not have to but it is sharp.I suppose it is a type boot knife and if you knew how to use it you could but the same can be said about any knife. Truth be told I don't know what you can say about a knife. I am happy. It is a good knife solid, people think its cool and it has cut everything I have used it for. I would even say you could shave with it. Good box, everything as described.
