I switched from powder to liquid way back in the 1990s because it was always leaving clumps of powder on my clothes, but I decided to try a box of Tide powder in 2023 to see if it had gotten any better in 25 years. It definitely has. No problem with the powder dissolving. And it's just as hypoallergenic as Tide Free & Gentle liquid and pods, and cleans just as well too. I was looking for a way to use less plastic, but it's not really feasible to ship Tide Pods in a cardboard box because they do leak sometimes. So the only option for cardboard boxes is powder. And I'm here to tell you, Tide powder in 2023 is not the same clumpy mess it was in 1998. It's much improved, cleans as well as any Tide liquid, and the only plastic in the box is the scoop (which is about 1/50th as much plastic as a bottle of Tide liquid uses). EDIT: According to the manufacturer, Tide Free & Gentle Powder has been discontinued. I'll be looking for an alternative.
