Neatly packaged inside the box were the wavemaker, mounting magnet, control unit, power adapter and assorted accessories to adjust the flow pattern. Also included were the installation instructions in Chinese and English. Installation is intuitive with minimal dependence on the documentation. The unit was up and running within minutes of unpacking. The critical step is installing the control app on your phone. Both iPhone IOS and Android versions are available. The instructions were clear but the English would benefit from better translation. I installed my pump in a freshwater, 4 foot, 90 gallon tank. This particular tank receives virtually no bottom current. I was hoping to agitate the debris and direct the waste to the filter intake. My hope was to diminish the need for frequent vacuuming during water changes. The pump worked great and moved waste material into the water column where the filter could capture it. As claimed by the manufacturer, it is very quiet. Depending on application, a 4 foot tank would seem to be the largest application for this motor, especially if it is mounted at either end. I was skeptical if it would hold however my urchin has crawled all over it same with some large turbos and that thing hasn't moved. I love that it has this feature because I hate trying to pull off powerheads out of cradles or try to reconnect the magnets. This one you simply pull forward and place it right back on. Very easy for cleaning and maintaining the powerhead. How does it perform? GREAT! For such a small device it really moves a lot of water. It has a very easy to use app as well as the controller. I have it set on the pulse setting and it makes nice waves across the water. It also comes with 3 different flow directors too which is nice if you desire to change the broadcast of water flow. The only positive about this powerhead is that it looks nice and streamline. The device turns off randomly and you have to restart it in the app, sometimes that works, sometimes it doesn't. The manual controller doesn't even function at all. Hitting the mode and speed buttons does NOTHING. There is no manual in English, which is super important if you want to actually use the device.
