The bottom slide-switch powers it off completely. Or, if you still want to see the temp in the room, during summer months, just keeping the thermostat turned up high will prevent the heat from coning on too. **Q: Will this work with a 110v kick toe heater?** A: I am unsure what a kick toe heater is, but it is a line voltage thermostat and operates by interrupting the current to the heater. It will work with 110v or 220v line voltage. **Q: Is this an in line thermostat to be connected in the 220v circuit? If so how many watts can it handle?** A: Yes it is connected in line. Two inputs in (220volt) and two outputs to the heater. It is rated at 3,600 watts max. Some thermostats just have two wires to control the baseboard. This one actually shuts the power off to the baseboard. Saves money since it is not constantly feeding the baseboard. You need to buy the correct one for your application. E **Q: Has anyone had experience with a 1-2-hour power outage? Does it retain the last setting?** A: Theirs no memory. It’s a capacitor that retains it.
