## Description

Polar Verity Sense is a versatile high-quality optical heart rate sensor that measures heart rate from your upper or lower arm or temple. Polar Verity Sense is a great alternative to heart rate chest straps and wrist-based devices. You can use it with the product's armband, or just place it anywhere snug and firm against your skin. Polar Verity Sense allows maximum freedom of movement. You can record your heart rate and other data in the internal memory and transfer workout data to your phone afterwards or you can connect it to a compatible device and follow your heart rate in real time.

Review: A very nice alternative to chest strap monitors - I always struggle with the chest monitor either I forget to put it on or struggle in getting good consistent readings. The arm band from Polar is working great so far. I linked it to my garmin fenix 6 to get better readings than the wrist monitor while bike riding or in the gym. Its probably not quite as accurate as the chest strap but the fact this it way easier to use and more consistent is a big win for me. My heart rate readings are much more sonsistent now across rides and easier to track. The Polar app is not great - I installed it but its not adding anything to my workouts so use the data through the Garmin app. Battery life has been good so far - I received one low battery warning in about 3 weeks.
Review: A great arm worn HR monitor to pair with my Polar watch. - The TL-DR is, i've only used this paired to my watch for almost 2 years with no issues, and I get good quality data. I haven't used it stand alone, or paired to the Flow App on my phone to record sessions. I have been happily using my verity sense HR band for almost 2 years now paired with my Polar (grit x pro) watch. I've also used it with my Polar Pacer Pro. In that time I've tracked just under 6,000 miles of running HR data and a lot of hours of strength training, mobility, and bike riding. I've had two bad readings in that time and both were my fault. Over all I'd say this is great value for money. The strap adjusts to my skinny runners arms, and it can get pretty long too for huge forearms. I'm a heavy user of this device and i'm a fitness professional who runs and works out every day. I came back to look at this device as I was thinking of getting another one for my wife, and a new strap for my sensor. I'm still on the original strap, and its holding up very well. If you are looking at the low star reviews, then I can see most are for people using the strap with their phone or some other cardio equipment. I've never tried that so I cant comment on that use case. I've compared the Verity Sense to my H10 and it's pretty close, I've also got a really good feel for my HR levels so I know its giving me good data, if it didn't then I'd not use it as wrong data is much worse than no data. I don't have much success with the optical HR data on the watches, as it tends to lock to my cadence from time to time. The Verity Sense is placed just below the elbow joint on my forearm and seems to work very well there. As usual with all optical HR sensors, there's a 15-30 second lag, so don't plan to use it for accurate readings while doing short intervals. That is where you need the H10 or other ECG device. Battery life is good. I get somewhere around 20-ish hours over a week of use. Now that Polar have the loop band I also use that for all day wear, and take it off when I'm using my Polar watch and Verity Sense combo, between the two I get HR (and lots of other data) readings 24/7 with no noticeable drops. Hope this helps with your choice.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does this work as good as the Polar H10?**
A: In our research and validation studies, the Verity Sense is nearly identical to the H10 in terms of HR data. If you are looking for the best in class data with advance HRV/Recovery metrics, then I would still opt for the H10

**Q: Is this compatible with Orange Theory workouts?**
A: Hi Elizabeth, the Polar Verity Sense produces two frequencies Bluetooth and ANT+. If you machine, app or device accepts either of these two frequencies the Polar Verity Sense will work however we recommend reaching out to Orange Theory directly and ask them if their devices and software are compatible with 3rd party devices.

**Q: Is this compatible with Suunto ?**
A: I believe it is, as it supports Bluetooth as well as ANT+.

**Q: Is this monitor compatible with the MYXfitness bike?**
A: Yes, the Verity Sense is compatible with the Myx Fitness Bike. Thanks for reaching out

### ⭐ Android app(s) make it worthless.
*by M***N on April 4, 2025*

I wanted this product for three reasons. In descending order of importance: 1) To connect to my Concept2 rowing machine and their Ergdata app so I could do heart rate zone training. 2) To wear when I was lifting or walking my dogs to monitor how many calories I burned. 3) To wear around all day and see how my heart rate fluctuated/how many calories I burned/steps I took. I remembered the chest straps being somewhat cumbersome from when I worked at a gym like 20 years ago. And I'd read that the wrist monitors/smartwatches didn't work well for rowing. So I went with the Verity Sense. While it was comfortable and did fulfill function #1 well, connecting easily with the rowing machine and the app and giving what seemed to be accurate readings, it was an utter failure otherwise. A) Polar has two Android apps, Polar Beat and Polar Flow. There's no indication of which one to choose - one was made later, while the other was updated more recently. Only through a response to a negative review on the app store did a developer say that all effort is being put into Polar Flow. B) Either way, neither app works. They constantly disconnect at random times, then tell you that some other app is using the monitor, even if you have no other apps open (and yes the rowing machine is off/in a different room). If you turn the device on and off, and close and reopen the app you may get a connection after 5-10 minutes. C) Worse, there's no notification of this disconnection, so enjoy having only half of a workout tracked, or not tracking your daily activity for 8 hours. D) The apps lacks any feature for daily tracking, instead you have to choose an activity from a list of ~600. Also there's no way to quickly peruse calories per day. (The log feature only shows max HR and time.) Overall, the terrible functionality of their software caused me to put in a return for this product and steer clear of Polar in the future. I would urge them to hire more competent developers. Having apps that don't work renders the device unusable and not worth the high price.
