Haven't heard of this issue before, but if you have hard water in your area, over time hard water deposits may build up. (You see this sometimes on terra-cotta pots.) But it's super easy to fix: just soak your Foot Scrubber overnight in a cup with 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup vinegar. Then just rinse it off in the morning.
