Composting is now required in New York City. The bucket is small, but for us holds about 4 days of compostable items most days. It has a holder around the top edge that holds compostable bags in place, and the cover hooks onto the top edge for convenience when adding items. Because it is small, it attaches to the cupboard door under the sink near the top so it clears the cleaning products etc. stored under the sink. My only complaint is that there is no place to attach a small charcoal filter, so that odors are absorbed when open. Not a problem when the lid is on.
