Some cotton dyes like Cerulean Blue procion may not discharge, but most will and will give you a batik look. Testing is encouraged because some dyes will not be removed by this. **Q: I tried using this but even after it was mostly dried, the cotton shirt kept all its colors. Should I have been able to see something? Ideas?** A: It's possible that the dye used in that cotton shirt is one that will not discharge at all; not all dyes discharge. Unfortunately there is no way to predict that when you buy a garment in the store.
