The NKJV Wide-Margin Reference Edition is based on Cambridge's NKJV Pitt Minion Reference Edition. It has the same layout and pagination, but the text is enlarged and has generous wide margins for the reader's own insights and notes. Another difference is the concordance, which is much more extensive. The Bible is printed on slightly thicker paper for enhanced durability and, as in all Cambridge Bibles, the pages are sewn for long life and so that they lie flat when the book is open. This edition features red-letter text for the words of Christ, full cross-references, extra ruled pages for notes and 15 maps. Bound in black calf split leather, it has two ribbon markers, a presentation page and gold page edges. I'm a seminary student and this Cambridge Wide Margin in Calf Split is my personal work horse alongside the Cambridge Pitt Minon which uses the exact same textblock but obviously shrunken down. I've made my way through four or five books of the Bible and several accompanying commentaries for each one, jotting in notes and my own personal reflection and commentary in the margins, which are a very nice size for writing. I write my notes with a 0.5 mechanical pencil. I have taught out of this Bible a couple of times. The Calf-split leather is very stiff, which for the application of writing in the margins and teaching out of, I personally prefer over the floppy goatskin cover. Cambridge makes quality Bibles. It has the same quality that I have always appreciated. The leather is high quality, pages are crisp. The main complaint in the reviews seems to be the text bleed through - but I can tell you this - after years of using mine, I had to grab it and look at it to see ‘Oh yeah, I guess it does a little’ … so clearly you can get used to it fast, and it’s not a big deal. It hasn’t bugged me in over 10 years, and I don’t recall it being a problem when I first got it. This new Cambridge is the same quality, and my Wife hasn’t complained about the pages at all.
