Either way, when applying the pad it tends to stretch from 1.5 to 2 times its length. I just put a complete 3.9x5.5 on my knee. Final size when applied was 2.9"x12". Unfortunately, I suspect, from both experience and others' reviews, that most of the other similar sized and priced pads sold here on desertcart are likely to have the same problem.
