## Description

Silver Conductive Epoxy Adhesive 8331D is an electrically conductive, silver-filled 2-part epoxy adhesive. It is smooth, non-sagging, thixotropic, and bonds well to a wide variety of substrates. This product allows for quick, cold-soldering repairs. It can also be used as a solder replacement for bonding heat-sensitive electronic components, or for making conductive connections where soldering is not an option, such as when bonding to glass, soft metals, or plastics. 8331D has been formulated to be economical. For a higher fill that maximizes conductivity, use 8330D. For a longer working time, time, use 8331S. Application Instructions: Read the product SDS and Application Guide for more detailed instructions before using this product (downloadable from MG Chemicals). Recommended Preparation: Clean the substrate with Isopropyl Alcohol, MG #824, so the surface is free of oils, dust, and other residues. Syringe 1. Twist and remove the cap from the syringe. Do not discard cap. 2. Measure 1 part by volume of A. 3. Measure 1 part by volume of B. 4. Dispense material on a mixing surface or container, and thoroughly mix parts A and B together. 5. To stop the flow, pull back on the plunger. 6. Clean nozzle to prevent contamination and material buildup. 7. Replace the cap on the syringe. Cure Instructions: Allow to cure at room temperature for 6 hours, or cure the adhesive in an oven at one of these time/temperature options: 10 min @ 65 ˚C 5 min @ 80 ˚C Storage and Handling: Store between 16 and 27 ˚C in a dry area, away from sunlight (see SDS). To maximize shelf life, recap product firmly when not in use.

Review: excellent - This is an excellent product. The epoxy cures in about 60 minutes to a nice hard consistency and is very conductive. The small syringes dispense the epoxy very well. I have absolutely no complaints about this produce. That said... I usually just want to use a tiny amount at a time and it's a bit tricky to get a few drops of the A and B parts out of the syringes. I've found that if I twist the plungers as I apply a VERY SMALL amount of force, I can get the small amount out that I want. It'd be nice if this were easier, but I think this is a better solution than having an A and B bottle that I'd have to dip into, so I'm happy... but an easier way to dispense a drop or two would be nice. I haven't check to see if one of my needles can be screwed to the syringes...
Review: Good working consisrency - Works well as a conductive filler and bonding agent for my sensor product. Solved three design issues; filler to smooth a rough edge, bonds two parts and electrically conductive. Paste consistency. Wear gloves. It’s very messy but cleans up with IPA before cure.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Anyone know exactly how conductive this stuff is? Resistivity value?**
A: It's volume resistivity is .0004 ohm-m when cured properly according to the manufacturer.

**Q: Can you solder to this epoxy when fully cured?**
A: You should solder first, and then coat with conductive epoxy and cure. The epoxy typically improves the electric contact accomplished by soldering. Good luck!

**Q: will a fresh mix of this epoxy bond to the cured epoxy?**
A: I do not know. After a careful reading of the warnings and dangers of this product I put it on the shelf unused. I learned how to solder. Just saying.

**Q: Does this stuff ever harden or is it always soft?**
A: The stuff hardens in about 1 hour. It is dispensed from a hypodermic type dispenser and can be mixed with a kitchen knife or small spatula. Have some alcohol readily available to clean up your mixing and apply tool and possibly you. I found that it conducted current quite well. When you are mixing and using this product it reminds me of using bondo.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good for rear window defogger, but use cooper foil as insurance
*by T***M on October 30, 2024*

I used it to reattach the male electrical connector to a rear window defogger. I mixed properly, held it in place with a stick, and let cure for 65 minutes at room temperature per the instructions. However, some reviews said it cures better, and stronger, with moderate heat from a hair dryer or heat gun applied. I set a small portable office desk heater, 400W, about ten inches away for most of the 65 minutes drying time. I removed the stick and the connector was stuck to the metal strip on the defogger. I did not pull on it too hard to test it, because I was afraid it would come off. I did check the remaining epoxy in the mixing dish, and it did set up hard, but didn't seem to have a great bond between the wood mixing stick and the plastic I mixed it on. Not like JB Weld, but the stick and plastic tray were stuck together mildly. For extra measure of conductivity of the electric current to the window defogger grid, and to help hold the connector onto the window long-term, I covered it with electrically conductive copper tape, with adhesive on one side (some have adhesive on both sides). I found the tape on amazon as well.
