I wear large mechanic gloves and occasionally XL depending on the gloves. I would say I have average hands and the handle fits well in my hand for light to medium utility tasks. It is not a chopper and it's not intended to be but the spine is certainly thick enough to pound it with a chunk of wood to make kindling if needed. The sheath has good retention and a good locking belt clip. My 1.5 inch belt fits perfectly. The sheath/clip can be changed up to allow for horizontal/vertical carry for both left and right handed users. I have no issues with the sheath which is rare for what I consider an affordable knife. It’s a bit on the heavy side for its size because the lack of skeletonization under the handles but the weight makes it feel substantial. The G10 handles are blocky but effective. I thinned mine abit and contoured them slightly. Try e D2 seems to have had a good heat treat. I was concerned about this being an issue on such a low cost knife. The kydex sheath is great and retention is also great. It comes with a tek lok type system which is good but I swapped it out with a Ulti Clip. You should too. I can tell you mine took a razor sharp edge well. I can shave the hair on my arm with it easily. It took some time and effort to get it that sharp with a wet stone. It does not "feel" like a "soft" metal when sharpening. You can feel cheaper/softer metal when using a stone. I've used it a little bit and it's still holding an excellent edge. D2 or not, I'm sure it will hold up well for the price. **Q: Can you set Sheath up for Scout carry?** A: Yes absolutely. I bought a better belt lock, gblsunion tactical 2 pack. The hide and drink small leather sheath works perfect also. Stamped D2 steel w non reflective corrosive resistant coating. Slightly under 4mm thickness. Torx T8 fasteners. Nice feel in the hand for a concealed blade. May be too small for large hands but length for concealed weapon is good. Kydex sheath could be made a little better as per previous reviews. Not sure what others were speaking of regarding blade deployment with one hand but I was easily able to thumb release easily from belt mount without a problem. Also fits well w a secure firm mount inside sheath. Sheath has a nice button release for belt mount and a lock so that no accidental release con occur. Blade comes sharpened and all I had to add was a little whetstone touch up. Decent blade for the price.
