## Description

Save-It Shell Catcher. 12-Gauge Semi-Auto Shotguns. The original Peterson Save-It Shell Catcher is back! An all-steel shotgun shell catcher that prevents empty hulls from being ejected through the receiver opening on semi-automatic shotguns and holds the empties for easy removal. One model works with all 12-gauge semi-auto shotguns. Simply peel off the double-faced tape to attach the unit to the gun’s receiver. The semi-permanent adhesive can be removed if desired. Softly padded tape acts like a barrier, keeping the metal plate away from the gun. There is no movement or vibration to scratch the receiver’s finish. The Save-It Shell Catcher is adjustable for different shotshell loads and guns if needed. Simply close or open the ends of the wire with no modifications to the gun. Save shells from hitting your neighbor on the range, hitting their expensive gun, causing distractions for you and other shooters and the empties from hitting the ground. Save the empties for reloading or having to pick them up later. Easy-to-use and works great!

Review: BUY 3M COMMAND STRIPS/TAPE!! - Bought this for my Beretta 391 Urika Optima Trap. Couple shots and the thing would go flying off with the double sided tape it comes with. I tried doing 2 strips of their tape, as the product comes with one attached and 3 extras; worthless! Absolutely worthless tape it comes with. So, had a bright idea. How's about those 3M picture hooks that have the double sided tape that holds tough but doesn't damage your wall when removing them? Works like a charm! Bought a refill of the large strips, I think 6 to a package, bada Bing bada boom. Hasn't went flying off once and I'm confident the finish on my expensive gun is protected. I've shot 6 rounds of trap with the Shell Catch and only had a hiccup within the first 4 or 5 rounds. Had to bend the wire down slightly but it's totally worth it. Catches the shells every time now. The only wear on the gun is along the ejection port where normal wear would be. I highly recommend this over a clip on shell catcher that will surely hurt the finish on your shotgun. Spend a bit more and protect your investment
Review: Works pretty well on my 11-87 - Works pretty well on my 11-87. With my trap barrel that has a knock-down pin to prevent shells from flying far, it works nearly 100%. Very easily to load through when it's engaged, basically like having nothing in the way. Today shooting my shorter barrel without a knock down pin, I had to bend it tighter and it worked about 80% of the time. I found when I had it bent tight enough, I couldn't easily load a single shot through the side port without squeezing the brass through the wire which would open the bend back up after a couple of rounds. I had to make sure I put the brass into the front of the port first, which was a little fiddly. I think I'll try one of the clip on style shell catchers, as they are black and removable. The only reason I wanted this one was for the simplicity of loading, but if I have to feed from the front anyway, I'd rather have the removable option. I do wish it came in black oxide or cerakote or something, the bright nickel is pretty ugly on a nice blued gun. Also, I had to file all the sharp edges down on it before mounting, it definitely has rough and sharp edges from being manufactured. It would be nice if they tumbled the plates before assembly.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Do you think it would leave a mark if you tried it and then wanted to removed it?**
A: It will NOT leave a mark. I leave mine on all the time but I did bend one that I had to take it off after about 6 months. They leave no mark though.I used to have one on a Remington 1187 & I now have one on a Browning Maxus carbon fiber.

**Q: Does this work for a Remington 11-87?**
A: I don't see why it wouldn't. This should work for all semi-auto shotguns. I have one for my Beretta A300. The adhesive sticks well, and it functions as it's supposed to. I'm very pleased with mine, and highly recommend it.

**Q: do you load a shell in the chamber with the wire in the up position**
A: Yes you can load with the wire up right into the chamber ... No problems with my Rem 11/87...
There is technique for doing it, but it's easy ...

**Q: has anyone used this shell catcher on a Browning A5 model?**
A: I'm sure that it will work. The A5 and my Benelli M2 have very similar ejection ports on their receivers and the BC shell catcher works perfectly for me.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works for me!
*by S***R on November 19, 2012*

I have a Stoeger M3000 Semi-Auto Shotgun and I shoot clay/trap with it. I wanted something other than a rubber band to stop the shells from ejecting and hitting the person next to me. Don't get me wrong, the rubber band worked, I just had to keep adjusting it after a couple of rounds for it to catch the shell. Of course, I had all the questions running through my mind if it really works, will this malfunction, will it fail to eject the shell, etc. So far, I've gone through 300 rounds and the Save-It Shell Catcher does what it is suppose to do. A couple of times the shell drops back in the chamber, but all you have to do is stick your finger in it or lift the shotgun up and pull the shell out. I squeezed the wire part a little tighter just to make sure the shell doesn't fly out and widened it after every shot to fine tune it. The shell catcher comes with 3 more pieces of double-sided tape. I had to remove the one that was on the shell catcher, not sticking onto shotgun, and replaced it with one of the extra ones which is still holding up. I really like this product and when the misses gets her semi-auto shotgun, I'm more than likely going to slap this on it too.
