The listing is not correct. We have 2 types of iDye natural and poly. The poly has to be boiled **Q: Will this dye thread?** A: Yes. It’s meant to dye polyester and most thread is also made of polyester. It would also dye cotton thread (but most likely your clothes don’t have cotton thread). But it may dye the thread a slightly different color than the fabric. I used it to dye a bathing suit and I was amazed that the dye got a very dee color on the material, living, thread, and even in the plastic clip closure. It worked really well!!! Has stayed even through years swimming and washing - but I had to buy a big pot and boil the suit in there to dye properly. I would not use a washing machine to dye!!! ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Never buying another brand again *by on Reviewed in the United States May 6, 2026* Honestly thought maybe I didn’t do a good job, had it going to near a boil and simmered at 4(stovetop) for a while before realizing I needed to do a 6. But after an hour, maybe 30 minutes total at 6, it came out incredibly stupidly vibrant and deep purple. I’m cutting up a 40$ pink bunny hoodie that’s sold on here(10/10 product btw) and stitching it back together after dying it. And it worked perfectly on 100% polyester. Oh and some may find the smell of the dye to be stinky, but oddly enough it smelled like fruit to me. Open every window in your house when you use this and use a mask. I find a lot of people are unhappy with the color cuz they use too much so start with a little you'd be surprised how how far it can go. use the color intensifier, and a bit of powder at a time. if the water looks really dark with color your color is going to come out about twice as dark as that water is looking so keep that in mind and you'll be happy with your results. Beautiful colors and they do so much more than dye fabric. This is much better than dyemore by far.
