Just snap the car seat into the base. **Q: Does the car seat work for a newborn?** A: No, idk if the car seat was updated since the last answer but my newborn has no head support and when installed in the car or stroller it sits straight up causing the newborns head to be chin to chest. I had looked at other options but I had to come back since I loved it the first time around. It took about 5 minutes to put it together. It's so easy to open/close. It's extremely smooth and maneuvers easily. I find it to be sturdy and reliable with baby inside. Cup holders are a good size, and little hide away space are great to hold a phone or keys.
